Silently Wearing Me Down
On December 26, 2024 I underwent a necessary medical procedure – a moment that unexpectedly became the start of my healing journey.
For several years, I didn’t realize how daily physical pain was silently wearing me down.
It limited my movement.
It drained my energy.
Even gentle touch or pressure caused pain.
Forced To Stop
During that time I was physically forced to stop.
And in the stillness…
I began to uncover the root of my pain.
Unexpected
Just two weeks into recovery, something unexpected happened:
The words started to flow through my pen.
A draft and book started to take shape. I never expected to have a creative flow at that time.
Milestone
Today this book is being released – 5 months after I started it – but it has been years in the making. And it marks a deeply personal milestone: the 10th anniversary of my suicide attempt.
Heart & Soul
In Hooves Touch The Wind: Riding Above The Dirt In Life, I’ve poured my heart, my soul and more of my journey than I have ever shared publicly before. It’s raw, transparent and filled with short lessons that helped me through the darkest seasons. I’m still revisiting and reapplying those lessons now. And maybe they’ll help you or someone you know, too.
Against Convention…
This book is about hope when everything feels hopeless. It’s about kindness, forgiveness and much more – often going against conventional advice.
It wasn’t what I thought would help back then but it did.
To Celebrate…
I’m releasing it today not just to celebrate life, but to share the things I wish I’d known. For anyone walking through shadows so deep they block out all light – this is for you.
Around-The-Clock
For years, I talked with people on the phone around-the-clock (years ago with a number I no longer have). I listened to their stories. I learned what helped – through trial and error. Lately I shifted to social media, a blog, and one-on-one messages. Eventually, it became too much to keep up. I never forgot the need however.
Resource
So I gathered the beginning lessons into this book – a resource I wish I’d had back then. I kept it short, because I know when you are going through something, even turning a page can feel like a lot.

What I’m Not
I’m not a therapist, doctor, counselor, or psychiatrist (though I have learned from many of these individuals and believe they all have their place when needed). As always your own personal research, discretion, and best judgment are always advised, when seeking help. Each of us is unique. We all need different things.
Helpful
This book is simply me sharing personal development advice that has been helpful to me and others.
In This Together
I am you, you are me, we are all one. We are in this together.
The More…
The more we learn the more we learn what we don’t know. We will all always be in the process. This book is part of mine. Take what helps, skip what doesn’t, and make it your own.
Trying To Survive
Back when I was suicidal, I had little money for healing resources. I was just trying to survive. That’s why the ebook is FREE for now, and hard copies are available at a low cost – just enough to make sure to cover printing, shipping and handling and a little overhead (with a coupon).
Not Focused On…
I’ve been questioned on this choice. But I know in my heart it’s right. I’m not focused on what I gain – I’m focusing on giving back. Because if it weren’t for people and their wisdom, I wouldn’t be here.
One
I always felt if I made it out, I’d try to help someone else – even if it was just one person – because I was that one person once.
If…
So here it is.

Common
My hope is that your journey would lead you to rise above the dirt in your life.
You, the horse and I all have something in common: we were born to fly!

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING
“The first chapter gave me goosebumps. I wept.
Over the next few hours, I shared my story – for the first time in my life – in a safe, judgment free, confidential space with Grace.
I felt healing and freedom to speak and have expression.
Since then, I’ve reclaimed my voice and my influence.
I’m not the same.”

“Even though I’ve never struggled with suicide, this book spoke to me.
One poem brought me to tears – I saw myself in it.
It gave me tools to reach for dreams I’d barely dared to name.”
