What does Easter mean?

What Does Easter Mean?
Over the years holidays for some of us can become crowded in layers of events/memories or other things whether good or bad..
However, I chose for this post to go back to Easter. Easter when I was 4.
How do I know what it meant when I was 4?
Drew For…
Well, I have a picture. I drew it for a contest. The question for the contest was “What does Easter mean to you?”
As a four year old, I used crayon marks and a pencil to slowly draw what I thought. Back and forth, back and forth. When I finished, I entered it in the contest. My first contest.
Later I found out it won first place.
Mix
It’s amazing how kids don’t draw or do what is expected of them. I didn’t draw the tomb, but instead what appears to be a mix of Jesus and an angel with a trumpet with four people watching (see the end for the picture).
What?
What does Easter and life mean to you? What would you picture if you had to draw it even in your imagination?
What childhood activities did you do that you still do or maybe no longer do today?
What would you do if you had no fear of pleasing others or expectations?
What new view of a holiday are you seeing maybe through your eyes back when you were a child (or if you came from a rough background or different culture how are you creating your own memories)?
In closing, I’ll leave you with a poem I wrote recently about this perspective:
The Sparkle
A thousand possibilities
Each day a new adventure,
With limitless potential,
Creating from nothing
Pretending to be everything,
Imagining new realities,
Eyes shining,
Fearless,
Heart alive,
Feet pattering,
Voice unhindered,
May we never lose the sparkle from our inner child!
Happy Resurrection Sunday, Passover or whatever holiday/memory you are celebrating – depending on where you are reading this post at in the world!
