What Matters?

Sometimes there are so many huge goals or distractions that it can become easy to forget about the simple things of life and fully enjoy them.

What are those for you?

  • I think about water. How something so simple can be amazing to look at and be in (a lake, ocean, or river). Also I think about how it feels so great when I try to drink more of it.  (I know I’ve been teased before for the gallon I try to drink everyday).

  • Finding a feather, a beautiful rock sparkling, a shell, a butterfly, or a wildflower.

  • Creating an outfit, jewelry, accessories, finding ways to intermatch clothes, styling my hair or doing makeup.

  • Home cooked meals – the colors and each natural, clean ingredient. How much fun they are to prepare and how good they make me feel. I personally like presentation and making them look beautiful (it started when I was a kid making mulberry fruit plates in the morning).

  • Smiling

  • Finding things to laugh about (I literally hate getting down for too long) – I will go and watch a comedian or start making up jokes myself.

  • Letting stress, worry and things you are carrying go… Emotionally how good that feels to be free.

  • Reading a certain number of pages in a nonfiction book daily and learning something new.

  • Listening to amazing content

  • Writing/drawing/singing or a mix of anything creative

  • A moment talking to someone when I go somewhere

  • Running through a puddle with a little kid

  • Watching or just listening to interactions

  • Dancing or running in the rain (when it’s warm ONLY) when no one’s watching (like no one’s watching).

  • Listening to others talk and asking questions to get to know them, learning something new, seeing another possible perspective or learning about someone’s unique life and upbringing.

  • Watching a baby animal like a lamb run around

  • The smell of a hill full of flowers in bloom

  • Remembering to write thank you notes, texts or tell others thank you in person

  • Organizing stuff to make things flow seamlessly

  • Exercising and breathing in the fresh air.

  • Enough Rest (so you are energized to do what you need to do).

I saw a sticker on a car (once) that read something to this effect:

Of course there are goals and reaching them, but it is great to enjoy the moment more because in the end it’s those “little special things” that truly matter…

What Matters? I’d say is honesty, truth, love, loyalty, strength, courage, willfulness, remaining teachable, not being judge mental and knowing who you are.. To me the simple things in life are not so simple people don’t value others or themselves let alone anything else, everyone lies to cover up there inability to grow as a person or just lie because its easier to lie then tell the truth. The world is getting to distracted with phones and going viral, pretty sad actually seems the value of a person depends on there looks n what they have but yet they want something they don’t give , makes no since to me. Love your thoughts can’t wait to read more…

Yes, the little things matter; each tiny snowflake joins with others to make a beautiful winter scene. May you have many beautiful moments this week!
