Priceless Dreamer

Four years ago, I logged into a zoom call with a gentleman I had seen in a facebook ad (with testimonials of people who had been helped). At the time, I was really struggling in a few areas and looking for answers.

I didn’t know then, that I would gain not only a mentor (with a ton of character and integrity) and Life Coach, but also an amazing friend.

Through taking his courses, FTR1 and NLL, I started to learn to accept myself and go after my dreams including this blog and the dream of signing a specific contract – which happened Friday (more info coming soon)!

Due to Eli’s work impacting hundreds of people (besides myself), he was recently featured on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News.

Today I am honored to share a little of Eli Schostak’s story and some questions that I believe will help you (as they did me) on your journey to go after your dreams.

Eli knows personally what it is like to be insecure about himself. He balded prematurely at the age of 19.

One day, he was sitting on a bench having a deep conversation with a girl. Suddenly, someone came up and made fun of his balding scalp. When things didn’t work out with the girl, he equated no hair, to no girlfriend which in his mind meant dying alone.

Due to this insecurity, he went on to wear a toupee for 17-years.

He also went from being a guidance counselor and social worker to having a private practice.

His gift was helping people go from A (their problem) to B (a solution).

However, he had a personal problem: he was imprisoned in his mind to the fact that he could not fully accept himself and he felt this was amplified by the fact that he was single.

Finally after 11 years, he thought he solved the acceptance problem. He met an amazing woman, Brooke (she literally is the BEST) and they married.

However, it was a rocky engagement and marriage, as he was coming from an emotionally unhealthy place. He believed the lie that “if he found the right person, ‘soulmate,’ his life would be complete.” Instead, “it was hell.”

He finally learned that although “the world thinks the right one is out there, the right one is actually you.” With this knowledge, their marriage started to change for the better. Eventually, he condensed 21-years of clinical work/leadership/personal experience and started Find The Right 1 (FTR1) to help people (especially singles after he helped many of his friends) get into and/or maintain healthy relationships.

One conversation between his wife, Brooke and Eli also helped solve the root of the problem, setting him free to create FTR1. He told her about the concern he had if he took off the toupee. “What would people and the kids at the school where he counseled think?”  Brooke’s response began his self acceptance journey to freedom. “No one is thinking about you.”

Tearing Off The Toupee

Today not only has he embraced who he is without a toupee but he helps others embrace who they are (and not hide under their own symbolic “toupee”).

As people wanted to learn more from Eli, he developed Next Level Living (my personal favorite), a course which provides exact steps to achieve one’s dreams. The idea for this program came to him during a tumultuous job experience.  Eli remembers quieting his mind when a random question popped in his head, “When do I feel most alive?”

An inner voice as he describes it, said, “when I empower, lead and inspire others”. Eli had found the meaning of his life. From that day forward he has tried to connect each moment with this idea in mind. He now also helps others discover their purpose.

Questions

  1. Do you love yourself (completely)?
  2. Do you know your purpose in being alive?
  3. Are you able to share your purpose with others?

Eli mentioned that 2 and 3 (answered in NLL course) can change throughout life. However, if you struggle with 1 (answered in FTR1 course) you won’t get 2 or 3.

Through his coaching and courses he provides simple steps to enhance one’s relationships in all areas of life.

In summary, Eli firmly believes in order to live your dream life you must remember your inherent inner value.

Yes! Love yourself! One evening at a conference I met with 20 people and was giving words of encouragement etc. Met with them individually or by couples if married. Now they all were Christians. I asked all 20 if they loved themselves and 18 said no and only 2 yes! Sad. Great blog again. ❤️🐼🐼

    • Mr. Klein, thank you for your feedback. Definitely, suppose to care about others as we care about ourselves. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
