Rhett is an icon of the wild Mustang – symbolizing a life lived free, limitless, unique and beautiful.

A bold little stallion, he remained unbroken and untamed, even in a populated area.

Through this painting and the photograph that inspired it, Rhett lives on and continues to represent the maverick and the brave who overcome every storm life throws at them – whether that be shipwreck or hurricanes.

He represents you and me and how we were born to ride above the dirt in life!

Painting Inspiration:

Hooves Touch The Wind is a painting by Grace Atherton created with permission, and inspired by a beautiful photograph taken by Kris Ruyle and Greg Sloan of Kris Corolla Creations. Their work captures the essence of the wild Mustangs on the Outer Banks.

What Collectors Are Saying

“Grace, thank you for painting such a beautiful piece. The neutral tones blend effortlessly with my lake home, and I especially love how Rhett’s black coat ties in with the dark accents in my space. I’ve displayed it at eye level so every guest can admire this stunning artwork.”
