Dreams In Unlikely Places

material and every type of trinket and bead could be sewn into an outfit.

She saw beauty and artwork in everything!

I remember her encouraging me to see creatively even in the seemingly mundane.

Material, signatures and pictures became a military tribute quilt project (with help from countless others), that raised thousands of dollars across the state and nation to fund care-packages.

Personal words, that I never planned on sharing with the world, became lyrics to a music video that I was able to tell her I finished on her deathbed.

After she passed away an encouraging word from her about how I should enter some type of beauty contest turned into me winning first place in an acting/modeling/singing contest for a well known agency (although I passed on the offer it boosted my confidence).

She always said,”Don’t buy me flowers when I am gone.” I gave these green-tipped red roses to her the Christmas before she passed away.

I am encouraged to see things through her eyes (myself included), and to see more in the simple things around me.

What a sweet post In honor of your dear grandmother. She reminds me of my mother who loved making crafts. My mother made some beautiful angels and I treasure the one I have. She is no longer with us either, but she taught me that we should be kind to everyone, even those that everyone else is condemning because they are made in the image of God. Thank you for sharing this touching story.❤️

    • Thank you, Rita! Glad you were able to enjoy beautiful things from your Mother as well. The lessons she taught you are amazing and still relevant for everyone today. You are welcome and thank you for your comment!
