A New Start

A New Start
Seeds are what make oaks,
Words are what make speeches,
Letters are what make books,
Drops are what make oceans.
Strokes are what make paintings,
Movements are what make olympians,
Notes are what make songs,
Ingredients are what make dishes.
Everything starts in minimal form,
The smallest possible beginning,
It’s the start that seems the least important,
But added to time it compounds into bigger pieces.
The words we speak, good or bad,
Come back in maximum form,
It’s said you can count the seeds in an apple,
But you can’t count the apple trees in the seed.
In other words the actions we put out into world,
Will come back to us later in multiplication,
Creating results, branches and leaves,
And more fruit and seeds that will go out again.
It’s the small tears cried in times of pain,
That brings about harvest of joy in sheaves of grain,
Watching movies and podcast change hearts and minds,
What we allow out of our mouth transforms our physical lives.
The ripple effect of each action and word,
Is felt throughout time, ages and places,
May we think about everything we do.
Because it’s the seed of a start, that changes spaces.
Happy New Year! I hope you go after your goals and dreams even if the steps to get there includes doing something small daily!
