A Secret Seasonal Dream

This year I wanted to grow a garden again but focus on something new.

It baffles my mind how a small seed secretly, accidentally or purposefully hidden in dirt (or around concrete 🙂 ), given time, water, sun and weeded (or not) can multiply and produce so much.

Can you guess the type of seeds pictured?

My seeds went through all of these growing stages. (See last pic for some of my garden’s results).

All of life runs the same way. What you put out comes back. What you plant you reap.

A small, encouraging word to someone about their gift can one day lead to them living out their dream.

Although words, actions and thoughts often take time to come back to people, in harvest form (just like a seed even if it’s placed unintentionally), they eventually do. Sometimes when someone is kind, it will come through someone (even a different person) being kind back to them.

Other times it creates a ripple effect of kindness. Small acts of kindness are like dropping a stone in a pond, the ripples keep going.

Many times people get caught doing secret acts of kindness and it inspires others to do them too. Here’s one I caught someone in a few years ago (it still inspires me and others). Check it out on Facebook here: LINK

I frequently look at different areas of my life to see or change what I am putting out (planting) in my words, actions and thoughts. Maybe this exercise would be helpful for you, too.

All seasons pass eventually and are needed for personal growth. There are life’s symbolic winters when nothing seems to be happening. There are life’s symbolic springs when there are tears or feeling like “when it rains it pours” and so on. There is a season for everything and they happen to everyone (some seasons take time, others change quickly). If, however, you keep putting good things out, good will come back.

This year, I’m grateful I planted a garden. It was amazing eating from it all summer. It is also amazing looking forward to eating and sharing what I planted and canned throughout the winter when the garden is dormant. Although dreams don’t happen overnight, with the right words, thoughts, and actions (even secretly) the ones that are supposed to happen will in their perfect season.
