Sparkling Dreams

I remember getting the package like it was yesterday. It came in the mail from a good friend.

Opening it,  I saw sparkling flames across the front cover outlining the above quote.  It meant a lot at the time.

During the eclipse last Monday,  I thought about these words, especially when I saw the stage called Diamond. It looked like an engagement ring.

(See picture taken by Josiah Smithe – special thanks to he and his wife for permission to use the “diamond eclipse” pic).

I further noticed visually that even during the complete eclipse, light still escaped from the sun in a ring around the darkness.

Then I saw the news stories about the volcano in Italy. In the stories, they mentioned how the volcano was spitting rings of light into the air.  It amazed me how no amount of dirt over a volcanos’ bright lava could stop it from going off.

To me, both the eclipse and volcano visually show that no matter in your life how dark it gets or what shadows/dirt tries to wrongfully hide your life’s sparkle. You can still shine.

The darkness is not powerful enough to dim your light.

What are some areas in your life that you want to allow your sparkle to outshine the darkness?

1. Is it choosing kindness instead of hate?

2. Is it encouraging/ helping someone else in spite of what you are facing?

3. Is it standing up for good in spite of the bad?

In the end

like the eclipse and volcano show that you can anyway.

This reminds me of a song I sang as a child, “This Little Light of mine. I’m going to let it shine.” 🎹 Many days we need to make a choice to let our light shine when it would be easier to “ hide it under a bushel, no, I’m going to let it shine!” You are one of the most sparkling persons I know Grace; keep lighting your candle in the darkness ❤️
